"From Sword to Utah" is an exploration of archived poetry, writing and diary extracts from those who took part in the Normandy Landings. Raw, poignant, and at times, heartbreakingly brutal, these historical accounts will be juxtaposed with the words of contemporary local poets who have crafted their own performance pieces for D-Day 80.

Featuring readings from celebrated writers, local children, and members of the Pompey Poetry Party community project, "From Sword to Utah" recognises the lost voices of D-Day, ensuring the powerful stories of those everyday heroes are kept alive. The event will take place at Southsea Cinema and Arts Centre from the 1st of June 3:00-5:30pm to Tuesday 7 June 6:00-8:30pm.
